Calm down....

Post by Nath »

....I'm still alive!

Just about, the ozone poisoning from welding aluminium ...oh...I mean aloooominum for you guys....in a poorly ventilated space hasn't helped, then there is the still painful hernia mesh repair. A close friend just had a heart attack and ever since I lie awake at night wondering what that chest pain is I have!

To be honest guys, my zest for life has been low. A depression usually takes hold by the end of winter.
My psioriasis is at its worse come February which can get painful. Family issues! I had to bug out a while.
Yeah I still hunt but even that is getting harder ....

Enough of me, how are things here and with you?

Dear John. Thank you for your cards. I can not however shoot at them as your thoughtful hand writing is contained within. You are a gentleman, salt of the earth.

Dear Pete. Thank you for your kindness too.

As for adding mint to mushy peas! Thats just plain disgusting and I thought that practice was finished with ages ago!

Nathan.

I would rather eat rabbit than mushy peas. Mushy peas remind me in sight and odor of something removed from a festering wound. Rabbit, now that is the start of a good meal.

Thanks Scrummy.
Hare is a little strong for me but I guess I could do something with them if there was no Wabbit.

God bless you and heal your afflictions......

I've said it more than once and I'll say it yet again, your photography is as good as professionals and one of those $100 full-coloured glossy coffee table books would be a good medium for your skills.....but the folks who buy those sort of things most likely would be offended at the sight of so many dead critters.

Of course I'll have to wait until they remainder them out at $20 for my copy......

Glad to have you back Nath! I was just thinking it'd been a long time since we'd seen hide or hair -- or is it "hide or hare" -- of you.

Wishing you well with those pains and issues. We all have something to deal with... Here's hoping that some good banter around the Leverguns campfire and knowing that friends on this side of the pond care will help cheer you up!

Nathe,

Sorry to hear about the health issues. I guess those get to any of us as we get more experienced.

Glad you are back too, I missed your posts.

Hi Nath.......I'm with ya partner on the big "D". If there was a way to eliminate the months Jan.-mid April I'd do it. I take handfuls of Vit. D but nothing works like the sun.......even then, it's just a small step up.---6

I do not know if St. John's Wort is sold without a prescription on that side of the pond, but it may be of some help. It is a natural serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Sort of like many of the more common antidepressants, but not strong enough to cause the seizures sometimes experienced with the prescription strength medicines. It is natural, but it does have potential side effects. Natural does not mean always safe. Venomous snakes are as natural as can be, but they are not totally safe. Water is natural, but it can kill you.

St. John's Wort may cause your blood to clot slowly in much the same way as Warfarin does. Bleeding may occur. I am not trying to scare you, but I am trying to give you information so that you can make an informed choice.

Very kind.

By the way. All my dead stuff gets used. Except predators. I am currently enjoying seeing my haunts flourish with game, relaxed from the lack of predation....for now!

I don’t usually suffer that at this latitude, but when we lived in England I sure did. At mid day in late December, one’s shadow was remarkably long and the sun rather dim even on a clear day. I don’t miss that.

Good to have you back.

I've got some of that still. I haven't seen it around over here for quite some time. It was popular with rimfire silhouette shooters at one time I believe. Bit of a flat point if I recall. I only have about 400 rounds left.

I went to take a look and apparently they've come out with an updated 50 grain hollow point round that is current production. In the 22 WMR, it will probably leave quite a mark on a rabbit. :)

Not surprising that you get depressed by the end of winter. I'd get pretty depressed too if I didn't get my daily dose of vitamin D.
I've got in-laws living in the north of England and they look like the walking dead by the end of winter.
