Made a holster from a holster

Post by Mossyoak1957 »

Needed a left hand holster for my Dragoon and that's hard to come by so I made one from a hold right hand holster I had,all I did was take out the lacing and folded it the opposite way,so now the inside of the right hand holster is now the outside of the left hand holster,it's a little rough looking but it works for my old school taste,I had the belt so all I did with that was flip the buckle to the rough side.

Also I finished the inside of the drawer for the box I made for the Dragoon.

Nothing at all wrong with that holster. Creativity is useful.

Nice holster but what I want to know about is the box. That is a great looking box you are keeping the revolver and stuff in. What is the scoop on that?

Did you build it or was it something offered at some point?

I made it 2 weeks ago and beat it up with a screwdriver and a old hunting knife to make it look old. The Colt label was on white paper and didn't like how new it looked so I mixed a little stain and varnish together and brushed over it to make it look old,it got pretty nice plus it sealed it to the wood.

Label before:

To get the lighter spots on the wood I wiped on wood glue and wiped it off wherever I did that it wouldn't take the stain to make it look worn.
