'Scout Rifles' in the gaming world

Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws
"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

"scout rifles have slowly been relegated to near-worthless, thanks to various nerfs"

Down with nerfs! What are nerfs?

I work with a bunch of young guys, nearly all of whom play video games regularly.

I have at different limes literally busted out laughing as these 'kids' (20's into their 30's sometimes) tell me about the capabilities of firearms they have shot in games. They seem shocked when I tell them I own that firearm and it isn't what they think it is. Last summer I had one guy tell me all about long range shooting and sniping from his extensive experience in video games. I took him to the range. Issues like range estimation, wind, mirage, breath control, slinging up, etc. were demonstrated. Don't have to worry about any of that in a video game...…. not to mention stuff like bugs, sun burn, dehydration, cramps, etc.

When I started to explain stuff like field craft his eyes glazed over.

1,000 hours of Call of Duty doesn't make you a soldier, 1000 hours of Grand Theft Auto doesn't make you a gangster. 1000 hours of Maddon Football doesn't make you a athlete …… it just makes you entertained by living vicariously through other people. In this case people who are not even real.

I read what has been posted then hit the link. Video games? Sad that some folks think video games represent reality. There is no hope for them.
