What y'all payin' for gas?

Post by Bill in Oregon »

The price has been dropping fast, and it was $2.08.9 for unleaded regular here in Alamogordo yesterday, but then New Mexico is the third largest oil and gas producer in the Lower 48.

$2.84. Gas prices are always high here. Stations are quick to raise their prices but kick and scream when it should go the other way. Bought gas at Sams club in Grand Junction yesterday, it was $2.61 and all the stations around town were mid to upper $2.70's.

We are getting as my Grandad would say "ying yanged but not enjoying it", but its either Tourist season, Hunting season, or Ski season. We only have one refinery in the state and they can only produce half to two thirds of gas the state uses in a day. Look at Denver traffic and you can understand.

Its no wonder the economy around here is so bad, everybodys extra money goes for fuel.

$1.99 in San Angelo TX last week. I did not pay $2.65-$2.69 in Junction or Menard. Not sure of the disparity except for greed and a captive population.

In southeast Pa it depends on how the wind blows. In Lancaster Co anywhere from 2.58 to 2.78.Sheetz has an 88 octane which is for flex fuel vehicles after 2003.
It is at least 15% ethanol and sell for .20 cents less than 10% ethonal.NON ethonal gasoline is generally in the 3.00$ range. One reason food prices so high.Burn your food to drive your a## around.

Just got home from FL. Paid anywhere between, $2,43 to $2.09 back in good old dreary Ohio. Highest I saw was $2.99 in VA at a real skunky looking outfit.

Good call 7.65.....and the leftist media gives him no credit. Last year the Denver yard was down to a skeleton crew and this year it's non stop hauling.

Oh! Forgot the main post line .....GAS? Here in S.E. Pa. it's running about $8 a cubic foot. I figure $3 for the hotdogs, $1 each for the broccoli, hard boiled egg, and cabbage and $2 for the deer jerky. Whew...good stuff we have here!----6

As for gasoline I don't know and never really cared. I only average a couple of thousand miles a year.

Due to the increased taxes (and the idiot voters who can't read and so voted to keep them), plus all of the regulatory "fees" (when is a fee not a tax?) I paid $3.59 for 87 yesterday.

I am so amazed at this......I cannot fathom how the average hard working American lets this slip by without a riot. I'm retired now but driving a forklift for 44 years was no piece of cake...driving to and fro, bosses looking to get rid of people with high seniority, coworkers looking to gain seniority, getting up in the morning, going to bed before you want to, going to work sick because of asinine policies.....all for a pay that pays the bills and not much else.

Once or twice a year, when I was off , during the workweek, I would have gun business in Philly ....driving through the city, just hoards of people sitting on porches, pushing shopping carts, congregating here and there are the norm. Sitting behind the wheel of the Jeep, contemplating, "I must be the stupidest jerk in the country as there's a life I could have had, but without the niceties of life.....doing nothing....and getting paid for it.......kinda of what I'm doing now. :D Big deal, you work like a dog all your life and what do you get out of it?....a few years of freedom ....at the least healthiest and worst mentally time of your life.---6

If it weren't for all the regulations and taxes, a bunch of enterprizing truckers would be headed your way ready to make some big profits via that awful Free Market, and pretty soon their 'greed' would counter the greed of the gas sellers in your area, and before long the price would be as low as possible.

But neither political party really likes the Free Market because in that system all exchanges are voluntary, so there aren't enough 'victims', and politicians want 'victims' they can play off against one another for votes in exchange for handouts and 'favorable legislation'.

Our government was NOT set up to do any kind of 'wealth redistribution', but these days that's the primary thing it does, under one guide or another.

Nope, as I said above $3.59. And last Friday there was a station off the I-5 at California 119 that was $4.13 for 87. And, there were a bunch of fools who wouldn't drive a mile down the road to another station that was $3.99 for the same gas.

Hey Six do you run 87 or 89 in your Jeeps? I found my Rubicon really performed better on 89 , if I was going on longer trips I'd run 91 just to bring the MPG up a bit more. My new Dodge says 89 minimum.
