Jaguar in the tall grass - again
Brazilian Pantanal. Man had to go and took his 38 SPL Taurus along. Juvenile jaguar tried to bite off a piece of him, and instead took a 158 gr LRN for his troubles. Dead as a schytbug, one shot. Man almost lost essential playground area equipment.

That's what I'd call " too close for comfort "......

Can't help imagining his pucker coefficient every time he considers visiting the commodities of the bush.
Re: Jaguar in the tall grass - again
He is lucky that he had that pistol with him. He nearly became Jaguar poop.

Lucky dude! Just look at all the women he is going to get...they all will want to see the wounds and he will accidentally "let it flop----6 out" The girls will blush, then feel sorry for him...and then compensate.

I'd bet that jag was spotted stalking the gauchos and that's why he was packing whilst poopin!
Use what ya got, once heard of a moose shot with a 22, 3 days later it died and was butchered to feed the village. Ideal nope but it worked.

Re: Jaguar in the tall grass - again
Gunny, Peter Hathaway Capstick tells the story of two very drunk English gentlemen at their club in Africa betting an elephant could not be killed with a 22. Off they went to prove each other wrong, and indeed the nimrod with the 22 found the beast, shot it in the clock and down it went for the count. A protracted discussion ensued, luck being nominated as the only cause for the beast's demise, so off they went again in search of another elephant to conduct their experiment on, found such unfortunate critter, the intrepid hunter shot it with the 22 in the clock, and down it went.
The world wouldn't be as funny without idiotic drunks and their 22s.

I cannot disagree with that last line.

I'm assuming this was out away from the cities by quite some distance. I wasn't aware that one could carry a handgun in Brazil. It was certainly needed!

Many of us have over the years, especially far from the cities. Many still do. I don't, as no longer reside there. No comment as to actions in other areas.Ysabel Kid wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 5:55 pm I'm assuming this was out away from the cities by quite some distance. Re: Jaguar in the tall grass - again
Thanks for sharing that, Machado. I carried a similar sixgun for years up in the sertão. Onça pintada were pretty much extinct in the area, just a few of the onça amarela still around. Anyway, never had to try my loads on one for which I'm glad. Mine was a Rossi stainless with a 6" vent rib barrel. Sure miss that old peashooter. It's good to see that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Just hope IBAMA doesn't come after him.
