Marriage veterns will recognize this rookie mistake

Post by wm »

John walks into his 5th floor apartment after a long day of work, he exhaustively sinks into his favorite arm chair, puts up his footrest, turns on the TV, and turns to his wife Hannah, “Honey, please get me a hard drink, I think it’s about to start.”

Ann rolls her eyes, heads to the kitchen, takes out a beer from the fridge, and brings it to John. “Honey”, said John, two minutes later, “please get me another one quickly before it starts.”

“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, YOU LAZY GOOD FOR NOTHING!” Ann exclaimed, “DO YOU THINK I’M YOUR PERSONAL WAITER!? YOU PLOP YOURSELF DOWN ON YOUR EASY CHAIR AND EXPECT ME TO BE ON YOUR BECK AND CALL!? IS THAT ALL I’M GOOD FOR!?

John sighs, and mutters under his breath, “it started….”

Well... if he thinks his wife's name is Hannah, and it's Ann... I believe I know where the problem lies.

29 years together. Yes, there have been a few fights, but they do not happen every day because we each try to take care of the other. I cook most of the time because her mother never taught her. Easier to just fix the meal than to fight about it and still not get something edible. My wife once fixed Hamburger and Helper just like her mother does. When I stirred it all together on my plate, she asked why. Her mother also liked black crunchy pancakes and green rubbery eggs with ketchup and pickles on them.

We are not a perfect couple, but we try to take care of each other. Besides, at home I am a neat freak and she understands that. We each have our areas. Then the dogs get in and rearrange it all and have more fun than I ever had as a kid.

Rookie mistake, Ann is his wife, but he was still thinking about Hanna, his new little 18 yr. old secretary. :?

I've been married too many times and I guess I just couldn't learn. Finally, with #5 I learned a few things to keep me outta divorce court; flowers for no reason, diamonds for Christmas (even had to go into debt for this one) and those two magic words; "Yes dear"....

I can neither confirm or deny.

All i know is that as of March, my wife will have put up with me for 40 years. I'm not pushing my luck.
