How to negotiate

Post by GunnyMack »

So 5 days ago the Dems were blaming hurricane Florance on Presiden Trump.
However by the time the storm has made landfall Mr Trump has negotiated it down from a category 4 to a 2!

Bless those that stayed put!

.

It's simply horrible down there - and for a category 1 storm, too ! !

Six feet of water came ashore in NE North Carolina !

I hope our friends down there got to safety before it hit this AM - and can only sadly shake my head at those folks who decided to hunker down & ride the storm out.

Obama would have negotiated for another 2 or 3 category 5 storms to be given asylum if he could have.

Actually, he would have negotiated for a category 3, accepted the increase to a category 5, and the pres would have called him brilliant for doing so...

BTW, a report from the ground here:

Winds are gusting, some very strong. No rain yet. Wind has already knocked down limbs which have taken down some power lines. Sporadic power outages in the Charlotte-metro area already with more expected. Over 600,000 people in NC are already without power, obviously more the further east you go. SC has over 100,000 without power and climbing.

Biggest concern is flooding. The summer has been wet and the ground in many places is already saturated. Some areas will get months of rain in hours. Erosion and mud slides are expected, though in this area, the topography is relatively flat (except my back yard, which may wash away into the creek!). Flash flooding of low-lying areas is a high probability. The hurricane is crawling at this point, ranging from 3-5mph as it slowly moves westward. Unfortunately that means it sits over an area a very long time, increasing the amount of rain the area is going to get hit with throughout the period of the storm. Greater Charlotte area still calling for 8”+ of rain.
