Paved driveway with next years guns

Post by crs »

So to speak,
Old asphalt drive from city street to house parking pad had a pothole, cracks and ragged edges and today a paving company came by with extra time, manpower, and materials .
So, a couple of hours later, I have a chip sealed drive way and a park pad that was just a pull off for guests. With the old asphalt as the base the new surface should last 15 years or so. Yes, the pothole was repaired and cracks filled. They also widened the street entrance some to match where our tires had actually been going. :)

Wallet is a good bit lighter, but the whole family likes the result. I have enough guns now anyhow (for a while).

Congrats on the new paving......but the part about having enough..........is bs.hahaha
I need a new apron at our swale. Driveway follows the swale and every time we have a good storm it fills up and I can’t get my mustang out of the driveway.

Maybe you need to throw a 4wd frame under the mustang with some 35" tires? :D

Paving, HA! Who needs it? I just order a load or two of rock, set the teeth down a few inches on the box-blade, mix the new rock into the existing base, raise the teeth back up and level it out. Visitors can park on the grass... maybe the few drops of oil will kill a weed or two! Although I do need to dig up and redo the culvert in the bar ditch along the road. Lowered cars enter at your own risk!

Was a guy in these parts years ago that had one of the older Mercedes Benz convertible that he stuck a 4wd frame under it with a 454 cu in engine and 44" tires. Was quite funny looking all covered in mud!
