Of course the Mustangs and Chargers and Camaros have become classics, but it is also interesting to see how some of the cars from the 60's that were pretty mundane are now collectible, and actually, pretty cool in hindsight.

Nice. I love those old cars. I know several guys that have a lot of old cars. Something I would have liked to have done but they take up way more room than Winchesters...and need more maintenance. :D

Yes, I agree! Some cars wee considered granny cars in the 50's and 60's are now pretty desirable! When I brought my '37 British Austin home my oldest son said, "It looks like a London cab!" He just couldn't see it ever looking good as a hotrod.

Well, not quite as old as some there, but here's my 1978.

Just so happened they used the exact model and color for the centerfold in the factory sales brochure.

Oh by the way, I heard on the radio this morning they are releasing a "Bullitt" version of the current Mustang. They are upping the HP to 475. I think the original was a bit over 300 HP.

Love a good car show! The hobby is strong here. Here is my '70 Mach 1 and dad's 60 Thunderbird.

I still have a modest collection of Winchesters, it can still be done with ownership of a classic/muscle car!

Yes, but it certainly puts a strain on both! Sometimes I wish I didn't enjoy the cars so much, as I'd sell them and buy a few really great old guns!

Yeah but you can enjoy them both at the same time....driving real fast to the range....and taking the scenic route home!

Calypso Coral is a cool colour, I looked at 4 in that colour before finding and purchasing mine. Imagine that Torino with a 429SCJ and a 4 speed toploader. ....ahhh bliss....

'72 Gran Torino, I should never have traded it. But I got my Jeep so...

Thanks for the great nostalgic classic Ford photos. If I'm going to buy American I only buy FORD. Back when I was 18 I owned a '65 Mustang Fastback with a 289 and T-10 4 speed tranny. It only weighed in at 2800 lbs, so off the line there were very few cars that could keep up at least until around 60 mph. It was fun while I was single but I turned it in for a Datsun B210 when I decided to settle down. All those Fords in your photos are very nostalgic starting with that '63 Falcon which both an aunt, and my older brother owned an example of. I always liked the lines of the Maverick since the day it first came out my best friend's mom owning a shiny new one, and that Torino also brings back memories of my drag racing uncle. I remember going to the local Ford dealer with my brother when I was kid and sitting in the driver's seat of the DeTomaso Pantera for an hour. That car has not aged in over 40 years. Got my wife a Ford Escape over 16 years ago, and now my son drives it with 150,000 miles on the odometer and still going strong. My wife has been driving a Ford Edge for a few years now. I could never warm up to GM and Chrysler products with the exception of Jeeps, loved my old YJ when I had it. My dad loved his 1953 Ford Fairlane but hated his 1958 Fairlane, it handled like a pig. He sold it in '59 and bought a Mercedes Benz (same price as a Chevy back then in post war Japan), and he never bought American again. If I ever buy another truck it will be a new Ford Ranger with the 2.3 liter turbo Ecotec engine with 10 speed automatic - economy of a 4 with the power of a V6.

Nice wheels.......most of us old heads here remember this stuff was on the road all over.

That's quite a show Rihmfire.....wish you didn't post all those pics.....many memories and I guess I'm about crying now. Not about emotional nostalgic stuff...but about the mega bucks I could have made by holding on to the neat stuff I had. :D ahh...
Just as well as guns don't nearly need the maintenance and room to store 'em.

Nice wheels Marlinman and Aussie Chris. Back from n the day a buddy had a .....I think....
1959 Thunderbird...it had two rear lights on each side..maybe 58? Marlinman..in addition to nice single shots you appear to be handy with cars too.....what did you drop in the old English car...small block Chevy?----6

My very first car was an ate-up 65 Mustang.

This is my (probably) last Mustang. Nothing fancy or collectible. A 2012 V-6. These new V-6s are amazing. Lightweight, normally aspirated 300+ hp. 0-60 +-6.5 seconds and 28mpg cruising.
