Deployment

Post by rodeo kid »

My son is in the National Guard and just boarded his plane for deployment to Afghanistan. We were able to face time with just before he boarded. Very emotional for his wife and his mother. As a tough old veteran and ex Leo I tried not to show it, but I discovered it is a lot harder to send your son in harm's way than to go yourself. I can only pray for his safe return as many other fathers have. God Bless.⛪

Prayers and thanks for his service!
We just got our son in law home this year after far too many trips into harm's way. And he's stationed right here in town for his final tour too! He'll have 24 years when he's done in 2 years!

Yes, +1 to that.

Too often, folks don't think about the heartaches and sacrifices made on the home front too... Prayers up for all.

When my oldest son deployed after 9/11 I finally understood how Dad felt when I deployed to Viet Nam.... :(

Thank you for raising a man.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Yes.....my son-in-law is now a State Trooper, and I'd rather go face the demons and tax-subsidized violent sphincters he has to deal with, and let him just be at home to raise me some grandkids, but I'm sure I'd not last the day.

It's never easy to see your man cub go into harms way. I too deal with it daily. Praying for you RK.

My prayers go with this young man. I know that you won't take a breath (metaphorically speaking) until he is back home. Quite a few of us never understood what our ex GI fathers went through until it was our time to let our kids go into harms way.

Prayers for both of you, even though he is deploying it will probably be harder for you (it was my family). If you can PM me his address when he gets there I will drop him a line and see if I can help from afar.

Prayers sent for all of you. Situational awareness helps in most every place any of us may ever be. I did ask specifically for him to be blessed with heightened awareness and reactions to help with his safety and to help the others with whom he is stationed. May he come home healthy and with the ability to deal with what happens over there.
