That Sir is a lovely rifle.

The last couple of years I have been craving a saddle ring carbine in 44-40. Now I have a couple of Uberti 73s in that caliber so I decided to see how close to an Italian price I could find a real Winchester. At this last Wanamacher I found one for about the price of a used Uberti. No where near the condition of yours but I have shot it and it shoots to the sights so I'll just change most of the screws and give it a complete tear-down cleaning. Pics to come.

This is my 38WCF 73 SRC. She don't look like much but has a nice, tight action and shiny bore. I feel lucky to have it.

Oh I think she looks just fine. Actually has that warm glow maybe especially set off by that cold picture. I can only wish that mine were in similar condition but alas it is at the end of it's useful life.

Thank you M.M.
The finish is mostly gone, but it's not pitted up. I had it for several years before I fired it. I was worried it was toi good to be true and wouldn't shoot. It did. :D

Oh man 6, that is one fine rifle. I'm guessing from the full blue, round barrel that it's a SRC?    anyway I'm envious.

Yup. I had Kristy sew a bunch of pockets inside so I could load up on all those Colt SAA's. That coat musta weighed 200lbs when I got back in the truck. :D

Is there anything better than a "73" in 38-40? (Well, maybe a "66")

Interesting that 100 years separates the 38-40 from the 40 S&W and they can have near identical ballistics!
