Views from Space -- Hurricane Irma Devastation

Post by Old No7 »

Wow............

My son just sent me this link to Views from Space -- Hurricane Irma Devastation (click for link) and it's pretty horrendous.

"Green is gone..." I'm thinking due to all the flooding from the salt water?!?!

Thoughts & prayers for those affected, for sure. But they'll need more than that...

My buddy who has a place on Grand Turk just told me he lost the whole roof... It was an awesome home too... I'm sure he can replace it, but having been down there, I know the homes the residents have weren't as robust for sure.

Nope. Wind. Sustained winds of over 120 mph will strip every tree and bush. Around here, we only had heavy rain and a few 60 mph gusts, sustained winds only about 40 for a couple of hours, But the yard and the street in front of our house today is liberally covered with leaves and small branches.

Devastating for the people, although the trees down there are 'used to' that kind of weather and will re-grow.

Sad that so many libs wanted Trump's place to get hit, even though it meant devastation to so many poor people there.

It looks like the storm actually un-covered a tennis court or some sort of thing that was dirt before the hurricane...
