I’D LIKE TO GO TO AFRICA

Post by JimT »

I’D LIKE TO GO TO AFRICA

I’d like to go to Africa
To walk on the red earth in the bright sunlight
To experience the village life
And see the night stars without interference of city lights
Where voices can be heard a half mile away
And children play without benefit of electronics

I want to see the mama’s cooking over the fire
And the girls hauling water
The children running carefree
With their little brother or sister on their back
Where yesterday can be forgotten
And tomorrow is not a worry

I want to hear the children singing as they play
And the mamas as they sweep the dirt
I want to be in a mud church and listen to the harmonies
That sound like angels singing
And the beating of the drums
That echo life’s rhythms

Yes, I want to go to Africa and sit in the sun
Letting all the rush of western life slowly seep out of my soul
Sitting in the dirt with those who have nothing by our standards
But who possess much of what we have forgotten
I want to see the Love of Jesus touch the beggar
And capture the heart of the bandit
And influence the direction of a nation
One village at a time

Amen Brother Jim, most things are best said from the heart. Our God likes that.

Nice. Now a little info that this brings up. A PH friend of Chris Troskie is missing over in The Rpublic of South Africa. He was hunting. Even former PH Tink Nathan (of Tinks number 69 doe urine attractant) is in on the discussion on Facebook. Even for an experienced hunter, Africa can be a dangerous place.

I will be going to Africa this next month. I plan on being there about a month before returning. I am taking my 18 year-old grand-daughter with me. We will be dedicating the Computer Center in Twyla's memory.

JimT, stay safe and I hope everything goes well. May everyone who passes through the computer center be blessed, and may they become a blessing to others.

Jim,
You were always good with words....well done. I remember back about 2000 when you used to write stories/tales on the old Sixgunner board.

Have a safe and happy trip.----6
