The new Uberti S&W is a hoot!

Post by 2ndovc »

A quick 25 rounds in the rain, wind and cold yesterday. Not the greatest job on my part, but the new .45 Colt is a keeper. It seemed to like the lighter loads. I'm going to make up some small batches of .45s for this and my other Uberti and try and settle on a load or two.
Anyway, some tweaking to come but it's really a fun revolver to shoot.

Nice shooting, I was looking at those on Gunbroker, they are pricey. You got a good deal and even better that it's shots nice for you. Todd/3leg

Oh yeah, that's nice. And a cross-draw too. I was thinkin' maybe a huckleberry but that cross=draw is quite appropriate.

Thanks Guys!

Nath,
It was only 20 yards. I wasn't dressed to be outside for very long yesterday and I'm not as insulated as I used to be. Big reason for the shaky groups. This one shoots better single handed too.

Didn't take it that way at all! :D
Just that I'm not happy with how I shot yesterday is all. I know the Uberti will do far better and I can too. Just a little embarrassed.

8) 45's are cool.

I haven't had a .45 Colt in awhile, forgot how much I enjoyed that cartridge. I think I need a new carbine to go with it. I have plenty of Marlins so something different this time.

Right now I've been thinking about a Rolling Block or maybe a '73 Winchester/ Uberti. I'll have to put some thinkin' in on it. Definitely open to suggestions though.

.

Very nice - Kudo's !

I've always admired the S&W New Model #3 & the Beretta/Uberti clones - especially the nickel-plated versions, fitted with repop S&W Gutta Percha grip panels.

I had one, nice gun but I just couldn't warm up to it and it shot to the left just like yours so I sold it.

I just love the looks of that gun, I gotta have one someday but I`m torn between one of those or a open top Colt.

I tend to shoot everything to the left. It's a grip/ technique think that I do when I'n not concentrating.

I have a 1860 that I put a conversion cylinder in 45 LC but I want a 72 open top but the more I look at that top break the more I like it.
Can`t afford either now anyway, just dreaming. :)

That is a very unique looking revolver, especially the short version. By the way, on one of Jeff Quinn's video segments, he has shown one of these Uberti's which had the cylinder altered somewhat to accept 45ACP ammo in moon clips. He seemed to like that set-up.
