Strange request for help
Our gun club needs to overhaul our High Power and Long Range target frames, we need 15-20 sheets of heavy cardboard, 72"X72" or larger. We have beat the internet to death searching and so far no joy. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Maybe whoever supplies the companies that make refrigerators or furniture? I've seen both packed in heavy cardboard of that size.

Jerry, check with a local auto body repair shop. My buddy up here in St Maries Idaho gets body parts, doors, fenders and tailgates and such in humongous cardboard boxes. He's happy when I show up with my horse trailer and haul a couple away.
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

Any bicycle shop. The boxes they come packed in are huge and heavy duty.

Not cardboard but when I was in charge of a range, we hit up a gravel yard and cement company and they gave us all the old conveyor belts when they changed them out. 2.5' to 3' wide and easy to cut scribing it with a razorblade cutter then bending. Nail or screwed onto a 2x4 frame they last for months and that was with heavy use of full autos..

Re: Strange request for help
Yes, we also use the conveyor belt to hang our steel targets from, works like a champ, only have to change them out every 5 years or so.
The targets we are discussing here use 6'X6' frames, they are the military style rifle targets that pop up out of the pits. We need backing that is 6'x6', nothing else will do, we cannot patch them togather out of smaller pieces. Ideally, they would be made from osnaburg cloth like the Army used to use, but it is unobtanium in the size we need.

Yellowstone rifle club in Billings Montana uses a plasticized cardboard that is tough and light. They may be able to help steer you. The center's are replaced with spray foam as needed.

My best friend's father ran the Intl. Paper Corrugated Paper plant (don't you dare call it cardboard) in Murfreesboro, Tn. Don't know if IP has a plant that can make that size but you should be able to contact their sales department. Sadly my contact passed away the year before last.

What's the matter with cheap 1/4" plywood. That's what we use.---6

It may be worth checking glass shops to see if they have anything from shipping plate glass.
Lumberyards or building supplies may have them from shipping large framed windows also.
