My Parker 12 has a top lever, so

Post by crs »

Here is a picture from Saturday's hunt at Hidden Lakes Shooting Resort east of Dallas- our morning's take of chukar, pheasant, and quail:

Image

Very cool morning so I wore my green Christmas shirt.
The guide and his dogs were wonderful - as good as they get - and so was the weather - and we all shot well too.
A great day in the field.
Now a little quiz-
You know that I shoot Parkers, so guess which person shoots 12 ga Rem 1100 and which the Beretta 20ga O/U ? :?

That looks like a good mornings work :D
I have shot a few Parkers ( my favorite shotgun ) but sadly have never taken one out in the field.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

The fellow with his knees together is the Beretta shooter.

Looks like a fun time.
Kind regards,

Yep. All of the above. Very proper. The guy on the left is a leader, can be a real force to be reckoned with. The guy on the right is the balance.
Kind regards,
Tycer

Last time I went dove shooting last year I had it all covered . I carried three shotguns all 20's I might add .

For the O/U guy I had a circa 1951 Browning Lightning . And for the fellows that like them the other way I brought along a Philedelphia Sterlingworth 20 gauge and a circa 1928 Parker VHE .

I shoot them all equally well or bad whichever way you look at it

I've got Parker's in 10 , 12 , 16 and 20 . So now I've got a hankering for a Parker in 8 gauge and another in 28 gauge .

after several years of shooting just my 20 ga repro, last dove season, I used only my 12 ga repro and it put me in the zone! Limited out ASAP and made a couple of instinct shots like they were easy and then just sat there and enjoyed the rest of the morning.
This hunt, it was much of the same- started off 2 for 3 and it just got better; in fact all three of us shot very well and I made a couple more instinct shots - eye on bird and shooting before the butt hit my shoulder just before the bird got into the trees. Dxxn, that is a good feeling! :)
Now planning a quail only shoot for next weekend before the preserve season closes.

It's my goal however lofty it may be to take my Superposed 410 and one box of shells to get the 15 bird limit . And bear in mind this Superposed is skeet and skeet . Or perhaps my little Iver Johnson Skeeter SxS 410 that's choked F&F .
