Nice. Frankly, I hadn't heard of the A17 either. Seems pretty reasonable for an auto-loader. You're just a glutton for punishment though in seeking out a rimfire rifle. That ammo isn't exactly overflowing the shelves at any of the local stores around here. Of course, I only look to take stock. It HAS BEEN overflowing the shelves of my master bedroom closet since the 1990's when I last bought ... a lot. I'm partial to the 33 grain JHP Winchester Supreme.

I started planning for retirement about 12-14 years ago buying all the stuff I'd want/need when I didn't have the proper wherewithal....Didn't intend to be called a "hoarder", but I'm glad I did. I prolly have 12-13 hundred rounds of various .22M stashed about.

That would be the Long Rifle, about 15-16 thousand.....My 9422M is a safe queen, keeping it nice for a nice profit someday, and I only keep the Mags for the Single Six (though, I don't fire them for plinking), or future trading material.

I think Anschutz used to make .22 mags. Models 141M, 1515 and 1516. Might find one used.

That's no fun. I really dislike it when a vehicle acts up, it's usually not cheap!

My left front caliper sprung a leak Friday on my Expedition. That can be nerve wracking when you have to push that pedal all the way down.

It was raining all day yesterday (Saturday) as well. This is where those teenage sons come in real handy. I drove over to Advance and got a new one and they changed it out in the rain. I knew they were going to pay off one day ... eventually ... barely.

Have you run across any interesting ones? If I read your post on page one about the Gun Show correctly a Ruger American for $900? Boy that's pretty pricey. They are going for mid to high $300s here.

I am curious about the Marlin bolt action XT-22MTR .22 Magnum as an alternate choice. I know that there has been a lot of comment about the current quality of the "Remlin" big bores manufacture in New York state. I believe that the rimfires are produced in a different state and that quality hasn't been a major issue. I think that the XT-22 Mag. with the 12 shot tubular magazine and synthetic stock would be a pretty good pickup gun. The retail price also seems to be quite reasonable. It has provision for either ways of mounting a scope sight.

I'm partial to Marlins as my first .22 was a birthday present in 1948....an 81DL bolt with a Marlin peep. Still shoots better than it should. Also a 39A lever which has sent many a ground squirrel to the promised land.

The other suggestion are quite good, especially the CZ and Ruger suggestions.

I have a nice old Marlin 25 with the box style magazine that quickly became a favourite gun. Those Henry lever actions are awful nice too. I was tempted to get one of the pump actions, but upon handling one they did not seem as slick as the levers. And to boot, I cut my thumb on it, when I cycled the durn thing! I did hear that there were a few problems with them feeding when they came out. Did not hear anything bad from the other posters, so maybe it's fixed? Lately I have been hankering for a Troy Landry Edition Savage. Have not handled one yet, though. And those CZ semi are tempting too, but have not heard too much on the accuracy.

Hope you saved some money and did the job yourself RIHMFIRE. Should not cost too much money, or take too long.
