These Guys are Serious....

Post by .45colt »

January 1'st I emailed the owner of Henry about the new rifle they plan to introduce this year. The next day I received an in depth reply from the Owner about My ideas. He asked Me to get a new catalog which showed up a few days later.
Today I get an e-mail from Henry inquiring if I did in fact get the catalog and if not a link to order another. Never have I seen this before. other companies should follow suit.

I've never heard anything the slightest bit "off" about their customer service.

Fascinating....
Frankly, I've tended to ignore Henry rifles and focus on more Classic leverguns.
With the addition of the 45/70, and .41 mag to their lineup however...they have at least gotten my attention.
Who knows...???

I know their customer service is second to none. I know about their commitment to make everything in this country, but I just can't warm up to their products.

I had sent them an email asking if they would consider manufacturing a single barrel shotgun/rifle similar to the NEF Handi or Savage 220. Anthony replied that they were looking into that and also suggested a catalog. I haven't received mine yet though and its been 2 weeks?

That is the kind of customer service we can all embrace. I'd love to own one of those original Henry rifles reproductions...

My only hold back is my vision....I can not imagine my being able to shoot it very long without a peep-sight! I know...no one in their right mind...

So I guess I'll sit on the sidelines and watch! Ugh!

Can't wait to see one of their big-bore .45s

I own 2 henry rifles. A big boy 44 and a 4570. Both are absolutely amazing firearms arena near artwork quality. I just DESPISE they way they load.

Vonfatman,
Why not put a Marbles or Lyman tang sight on the Henry? It only takes a long tang screw and drill & tap the tang for the front screw. It's not a collectible antique so fix it to where you can shoot it. There are some here who have used the long tang screw and epoxy, without the front screw, successfully.

Check out Skinner Sights, he makes a very nice peep sight for Henry Rifles:

Great ideas guys. I'm going to look into that tang sight first as it would me more appropriate to that era gun (I know these are modern shooters, not collectable).

I see the Skinner sight in the attached link....that's a great suggestion as well.

I may have to pony up for one of these rifles!

Thank you Mr. jazzman and Mr. Wright.

I haven't always been impressed with the quality of the Henry rifles, but their customer service does get outstanding reviews.

I couldn't ask for better than my little Henry .22 caliber levergun. It hits what I aim it at, and it is as slick as oiled glass.

I've had Henry on my wish list for a while, just haven't made it to the top yet. The .41 Mag may change that. The loading system doesn't bother me at all, in fact aside from being non-traditional it's more convenient for unloading. Tradition doesn't top function for me. Your results are yours.

That replica 1860 Henry they're offering is in a class by itself relative to their other rifles. It's just too bad they are forced to charge as much as they are, but I sorta understand why. Still, I wish I could afford one. jd45

I have a Henry youth model in .22 and the wife and everyone else love shooting it. It's a fine rifle with a very smooth action. The quality and workmanship is obvious in every area. That said, I wouldn't buy another in any caliber because of the way they load.

AFAIK, the modern Henry's all load the same way as the Henry.22 - through a magazine tube loading port.

A couple of years ago I emailed an inquiry to Henry and the next day I got a reply from Mr. Imperato. Three days later I got a catalog with a hand written note signed Anthony Imperato. Needless to say my next levergun will be a Henry...
