You know that black elastic cord that holds scope caps on...

Post by AJMD429 »

...when it loses its elasticity or breaks, where do you get more of it...????

This is the stuff that is maybe 1/16" to 1/8" diameter, elastic, and goes through holes in the scope caps then is tied in a knot so it doesn't slip through.

Try the sewing dept. at Wally World or a store that only deal with sewing. Here we have JoAnne's Fabrics. Maybe Hobby Lobby.

If Walmart doesn't have it try sailrite.com/Shock-Bungee-Cord-3-16-Black#. They show it for .30 a foot. They're in Columbia, IN.

Butler Creek scope caps?

No cord, but very good scope caps that pop up instantly and stay attached.

I have both types, but kind of like the clear ones you can just totally remove and stick in your pocket, so there's nothing sticking out and flipping around to catch on branches and so on. The ones held on with elastic cord are also more forgiving of fit and thus can be used on multiple scopes.

.

I've long ago tossed every one of my inexpensive scope caps that were tied together with that elastic rope, replacing the caps with either:

or, a set of Storm Queen lens covers

Try a Butler Creek Bikini Scope Cover. They are all rubber and fit most sizes of scopes. http://www.butlercreek.com/media/Butler ... rGuide.pdf
