Last week of deer season dillema...

Post by Old Ironsights »

The area I am Hunting is lousy with pheasants and pheasant season is now open there.

Sunday I busted out a dozen or so hens and 3 or 4 roosters.

Should I stick to my .357 and just hunt deer, or take the 16x16/9.3 Drilling and go for a twofer?

I would go with the drilling. Gun shots don't usually bother deer too much and it is just too cool to walk around with a drilling. lol

Take the drilling, I love combo guns for that reason. When I hunted Fl regular fall turkey and deer season overlapped a good bit. My 6.5x55 12 gauge combo was the cats behind.

You're in the happy position that Drillings (or any combination gun) were expressly designed for.

Alrighty then. Drilling it is for the Sunday hunt.

But the Rossi is riding shotgun... err... backup... just in case.

Now I gotta repack my kit.

And next year, I'm going to revise my tag purchase so I get more than 3 days of crossover...
