Gun show find

Post by iceman »

On Saturday I found a Cooey model 84 28 ga single shot shotgun. I bought it for only $115. No real reason to buy it only that it was very clean and different. As I was walking around a fellow at a table asked if I was selling it or had bought it. I said if you want it $350 as a joke. He said "yeah that's what I got for the last one I had"
I though yeah right just another BS gun show story. Just for fun I listed it on a Canadian gun site and in less than 24 hours I sold it for $360. I'm going to have to look around for more of these. lol

That is true and I only have to mail it to him once I receive the funds.

I have a Cooey 84 .410 and used to have Cooey 84 12gauge. They are well made reliable shotguns. They can be picked up over here quite cheap but the 28 gauge is RARE, I've never seen one over here but if I did I'd pay over the odds to get it! The 12gauge only cost me $35.00.

They are not common over here either, but not unheard of. The common 12,16,20 and .410 in decent condition average $150.00. I new they were rarer, but I didn't think over 2 times the going rate.

The 12 and 410s are the only ones I see over here, $150.00 is about what they go for here as well but well worn 12s can be picked up for peanuts. I broke my 12 down for spares and swapped some of the parts with the .410 to make it easier to cock. I did have a Winchester/Cooey 20gauge but they were not as good as the original Cooey that was all steel and walnut.
You did well finding that 28

I have a 28 gauge H&R and I love it. I'm thinking of looking for another 28 gauge but I want one that's smaller than the H&R.
