Man! This is THE revolver I've always wanted to see in regular production, and it comes at a time when I just don't have gun funds. I can see that becoming an instant classic. What's not to love?

I fired about 150 rounds through mine lasts week. It seems to prefer Lyman's version of the 255 gr. PB Keith bullet cast of 50/50 wheel weights an pure lead sized to .452 pushed to the 800-850 fps. Range in the .45 Colt. I shot up a bunch of various loads I had from other load work up's just to reclaim the brass.
It shoots .45 ACP almost as well. The loads I had were loaded with Berry's plated 230gr. RN over 6.5 gr. Red Dot . They all held into about 2" at 30' rested. I will be shooting Hornady 250 gr. XTP's and 300 gr. gas checked cast over healthy charges of IMR 4227 (Ruger only data loads) on my next trip out.
I also will be installing a Wolf 14 pound mainspring.

I've got a 4" .44 Redhawk. It's a great shooter but man is it heavy. If I put it in my Simply Rugged holster I need carpenter's suspenders to keep my pants up.

I've been looking really hard at a 4 or 5.5" .44 Redhawk for deer hunting this season. Mount a 2x scope, carry it in a shoulder holster, use my walking stick as a shooting stick, and I'm ready.

Just need the funds. (sigh)
