Nice shooting with a sweet rifle!
Re: Quick Range Report: M1A
Nice. That's some good shooting.
M1A's are just awesome. I've had em for twenty years. Got two I wouldn't part with for anything.

"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

The only mod it needs is a Camp Perry style leather sling (or at least that was my feeling after i shot mine a couple months back )

Great rifles!
I've had several and all have been great shooters.
They're even more fun at 4-500 yds.
A friend and I would take several propane torch cylinders painted orange
and set them on my back stop and with open sights blast away at 400 yds. Shooting prone of course.
They look really small that far away.
The guy that hit the most won a bottle of Makers Mark!
My eyesight was a lot better then.
I have two now, a SOCOM 16 and a standard M1A in Basic Black.
I'd like to add a Squad Scout to the pair.
Have Fun!!!

Well done and GREAT rifle. Been lucky enough to carry things that looked like that on a few continents.

Streetstar.... I see you have the scope mount setup on yours. What brand and how's it working out for you?
This particular load I've researched quite a bit and looks like it has a lot of potential. I would like to make up a few more rounds and run it through the crony, tweak it just enough and call it good. Something about these sights I love feeling pretty comfortable. So far I'm not having any problems seeing the target at that distance even though I've been using reading glasses for some time now.
I don't know if it's sacrilege or what but someday I would like to try shooting cast bullets through it. I know, I know shooting cast bullets through any semi auto is asking for trouble but I'm pretty impressed on the results their getting over at the CB forum. For now I'll run jacketed to smooth the barrel out more and have some fun with it.

Re: Quick Range Report: M1A
Mainhunter, would that about 37 or 38 grains? No NO that's the load for the 30-06! How many grains in the .308?

Actually the charge weight was 41.5 grains of H4895. Primers were CCI BR-2. That's from several publication that I've checked that includes Zediker.

Great load choices - and good marksmanship - and great rifle! I remember its military version well - a wonderful piece.
Thanks for the post!

Makes me want to get out and shoot my M1A National Match again.
