we've lost another WW2 Vet

Post by JNG »

My father-in-law passed away Sunday, he was 89. Now he will go to his reward and be with the Lord and his wife of 67 years.
My father passed away in 1969, he was wounded in Metz France. My father-in-law was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge.
Please pray for all of our Veterans.

Sorry for your loss friend. My dad ,91 years old and still driving, was in the Atlantic side of the war in the Navy. I can see him slowing down at an alarming rate lately.

You might try to see if any of his military records survived the fire. You can google how to go about it. Also, you might check and see if there was a reunion organization. My dad's outfit (Super) Sixth Armored Div. had a quite active one until time took it's toll. Their web site was still up last I looked, and it had a wealth of information, including some interesting maps, and links.

I have one more WWII vet still living in my family, a great-uncle that lives in CA. I haven't seen him in over thirty years. Need to make a phone call.
