Post by barbarossa »

After posting my rimfire rifles I decided to post my centerfire. Not as many as my rimfires but they suit my
needs which is mainly deer hunting. The only one in the bunch that hasn t taken a deer is the Sharps and I hope to fix that next year.

That No.3 in 44 Mag is certainly a genuine Hunter's Rifle... 8)

I have to agree with you on the no3 , it carries easily in the woods and the 44mag cartridge suits the gun more than any of the other chamberings. If Ruger had of chambered the no 3 in 44mag and 357mag when it first was produced the no 3 might be still made today.I think a lot of people were turned off of the no 3 because the 45/70 chambering gave the gun a bad rep as a brutal kicker.

I've been wanting one of the repop 1895 carbines since they came out. I don't fully underdtand why but I've quit doubting myself.

That Sako really needs to join my accumulation !

Only thing that would make that mannlicher stocked gun any better was if it were chambered for the 260 REM cartridge !

But I can live with a 308 in one of them

I agree. Would love one in 38-55 or 375 Win, or 32-20, or......
