Old Cowboy Photos

Post by BC in TN »

Many of you are interested in Cowboy accoutrements.
I'm passing on a link to some great photos from the early 1900s. Once the link is opened you can select a category at the left of the screen then scroll through. Lots of photos there. Enjoy.

Spending time at the Amon Carter while in Fort Worth was a highlight of my last Texas trip.

FABULOUS website. Thanks for sharing.
One thing however....I scanned through quite a few of the pictures. I was extremely impressed with the quality.
HOWEVER...these are obviously fakes.
Granted I didn't look at all of them, but of the many pics I looked at, NONE of those cowboys was sporting a BIG-IRON on his hip.
Not a single 2-gun rig with silver conchos, not a single Winchester in a saddle scabbard...?????
No...these pics must be fakes. Afterall....EVERYBODY KNOWS a REAL cowboy doesn't go anywhere without his Colt and Winchester...!!!

Seriously...thanks again for sharing.

That is a great collection -- Although I foresee some serious time going down the drain... :)
