Could use a prayer if you can spare one - update

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Fellas, as many of you know, I've dealt with back issues for many years. I thought I had it licked after surgery in the fall of 2009 to repair a herniated disc (L5/S1), but the same disc was injured again when I was hit by a truck in March, 2012. That disc has herniated badly again, and flared up several weeks ago. I have been flat on my back for the better part of 2.5 weeks, with intense, unrelenting pain radiating down my right leg. I go in tomorrow for a nerve root block injection. If you can spare a prayer that this works for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. If it doesn't, I'm probably looking at another surgery. I'd do it, and may need to no matter what, but I just don't like the idea of having my back cut open yet again.

Thank you all!

Prayers up. been there and done that. Luckily my surgery was successful. Hang in there, I had the nerve blocks and it didn't work, so if it doesn't, don't suffer get to the surgeon. Sometimes it is the only way.

Prayers up.

Just don't take "pain medication", 'cuz the experts tell us that it means you are thus a weak-willed, drug-seeking, lowlife. If you have to take "pain medication" and also take something to relax or reduce muscle spasm, your physician has to report you to the government as a "red-flag patient"...

Ysabel Kid, without going into the drug that they will inject, it may not work at all for you. I had the shots from Oct. of 07 thru Nov of 08, 7 sets of shots inall. You are not supposed to get them more than 2 a year. The first 2 worked 4 months and worked fairly well but the 3rd lasted only about a month and the last one didn't work but about 4 hours. Then I had the L5-S1 disc removed and fused with a plate that has expansion holes so they can add more plates as required. So since Feb. of 07 I have had C5-C6 fused and L5-S1 fused because of the same accident. I will pray for your successful treatment. But also be honest with you about your treatment.

Thank you fellas. The procedure was very fast (this is the 4th or 5th one I've had in the last 5 years). Godawful painful though, which is good, as it means they were injecting the "concoction" in the right place (cortisone and lydacain). Hurting quite a bit more right now but that is also normal the first couple-few days. I'll know if thi helps hopefully by Monday.

I can tell though all your prayers helped. THANK YOU!

Will be praying for your recovery, I had a couple of back surgeries several years ago and it did help both times. I reckon doing like the doctor said and selling my horses helped the most.
