I bought a safe queen USFA Rodeo 45 Colt single action revolver 5 1/2" with Elk grips. A real nice gun and nearly perfect. Very accurate with Mag-Tech Cowboy loads, great timing and trigger.
Now my question. On the frame are following informations: Pat. Sept. 19, 1871, below July 2 - 72 and under this Jan. 19 - 75. Any idea what the dates say or mean? Thanks for your input.

No expert. If I was I could tell ya what each of those patents was for. But, I think the 1st 2 are the ejector rod & housing and the loading gate.

I think patenting is very important so patent number should be put in the products itself. Those are the 3 Colt patent dates for that mechanism.
