Yep. Never easy, but the 'next one' is always able to bring more smiles...

The dogs and cats in my family ARE my family.
Without them, I would have nothing.
It rips my soul every time I bury one.
I know this is small consolation, but there is another one that needs your love.

Great Pictures~ Thanks for sharing. I have been through this so many times. As an animal lover I could never stand being with out them, even knowing how short their life span is compared to us.
After I lost Timber and Opie I said enough. My heart can stand no more since each one takes a piece of it. I had lost my stallion Joe also and just could not put my heart through any more.
My east hill is full of loves from years gone by.
Then Cayenne found me and Dances with Wolves. There is a story with both and when your in the mood I can share them with you. Some times it does a body good to share... since its compassion that holds us together, at times like these, when understanding from even strangers make tears flow and hearts glow. And now they too are old, and I dread whats ahead but never ever would I trade one of the smiles or laughs or snuggles for the tears I know I face ahead,
With much understanding and passion..... here is to the years your heart glowed!
Warmly,
