Lead Abatement

Post by stretch »

Friend of mine is looking to get some lead bullets removed from an old clay bank
that's been used for a shooting backstop for years.

There are folks who do that sort of work commercially, but no luck actually
getting someone to look at the project.

Anybody know of a company doing this type of work? Thanks.

Might be helpful if you posted the location....

To answer the questions:

Job is way too big for one or two folks.

Don't have the time.

Maine is the location.

Our shooting range did the lead abatement last year and it was quite expensive but is a requirement of the county. You can google it but this is what we used
http://www.mt2.com/firing-ranges/overvi ... QgodxGAAYA

They used a local contractor to do the dirt work and leased the reclaimer to them, we got 1200# of shot that the club is selling for 20.00 for 25lb and they have almost sold all of it. We got scrap prices for the rest of the lead which went to the cost of the abatement.
