Walk in the woods

Post by Malamute »

Took the dog up in the mountains yesterday for a walk. It was a spectacular day, I didn't even need gloves, and the occasional bug was flying around. The dog flushed a grouse, which I shot with the 71 and a round ball load. Saw scads of snowshoe rabbit tracks in the snow, and a fair number of moose tracks. I'll have to remember to take my chains, I could have driven in farther on the two track road if I'd had them. Not much snow, but it was slick enough I couldn't get up a hill to keep going farther in.

Oh well, I had pictures, but they wont load. I'm getting a notice that they can only be less than 1000 pixels wide. My photobucket settings are for less than that. Not sure why they wont load.

Pics loaded here,

Thanks for sharing the pictures and story. Beautiful country, dog, and gun. Yummy grouse too, no doubt...

Me thinks I know that country, by the way. This summer there were goats between the peaks, looked like nannies and kids from below. I am heading up this weekend, need grouse.
