So what? I know this was meant to be funny, but, I've been stressed for quite awhile how every little gaffe, or mistake results in a "Demand" for an apology. The assumption being that a person can be ruined for not giving one, and a Heroic Win for the PC Liberals that demanded one and got it. It's a mistake, People.... (off soap box with a sincere apology for messing up your post  )

I know what you are saying. At my son's cadets parade some cadet put the flag up upside down. The visiting officer was a Navy Admiral. Every one was stressed except him who thought it was funny and gave the young chap the chance to sort it out. Apparently an upside down flag means something to naval folk.

Nothing government or any government employee does is a mistake or should ever be excused.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

With 200 different languages spoken by a population of less than half a million Manchester is the third most diverse city in the world. I doubt that many of the inhabitants even know what our national flag is supposed to look like.

I wouldn't expect most Government employees to pay enough attention so that they would even notice that.

My wife just pointed out the Manchester flag looks like the Icelandic flag. So looks like Manchester has surrendered and Iceland won the Cod War after all.

English chaps can explain the Cod War.
