Re: UBERTI MODEL 73 PROBLEM
Welcome to the fire.
With the left side plate removed, can you see if anything is holding the right side plate? Can you give it a nudge from the inside with the left panel off?

Re: UBERTI MODEL 73 PROBLEM
IT is prolly just a super tite fit, with the left side off use a wooden dowel and tap on it. It should pop out. The prob will be putting it back in and getting it seated straight.

Re: UBERTI MODEL 73 PROBLEM
Welcome to the best forum on the net!
My Uberti '73 also has a tight fitting side-plate on the right side, but the cure is simple. With the side-plate screw backed out, reinstall it with just a couple threads catching, then tap on the raised screw head with a soft hammer or even the handle of your screwdriver. The plate will pop right out. To reinstall it, I first insert the front end, then align the back end and tap it securely back down into place, again using a soft hammer or a screwdriver handle.
Good Luck!

Re: UBERTI MODEL 73 PROBLEM
Please don't use the screw to tap on, you're likely to damage the threads in either the side plate or the screw. The rear of the side plate needs to come out first and go in last... the front edge is beveled to hold that end in place. Ubertu has an 800lb gorilla that does finally assembly and tightens all their screws.
As said, use a wooden dowel to tap it out from the left side.
