1866 Yellowboy rear ladder sight

Post by cortezkid »

I'm a new Leverguns member.
I could sure use your expertise in helping to find a good rear Ladder sight for my '66 Yellowboy by Uberti. The one that is on it is badly loose and pretty much shot.
I have looked on the internet and the only one that I can find is on VTI which appears to be just like the ones furnished with the rifle. Would like to find one with a little better quality?

Would greatly appreciate any help all you experienced 1866er's could give.

Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of leverguns! :D

Have you tried Buffalo Arms? They have a lot of sights, and though I am not sure they have this one, it is probably a good bet that they do!

Good luck. Post a picture of your Yellowboy when you can!

Thanks Rimfire. I would like the good quality Ladder sight but I don't think that it will work on a "66 as the distance from the dovetail to the reciever on the 66 is only 1" and the Smith sight is too long from the dovetail insert to the back end of the sight. If it the dovetail were on the buckhorn end it would probably work.

Thanks for your suggestion!!

Howdy Rimfire- I had seen these great Smith sights but the dovetail insert is on the wrong end of the sight base as there is only 1" from the dovetail slot to the receiver.

The Smith would be perfect otherwise!

Thanks for your reply
