Interesting SD gun comparison...
I guess the most important thing still remains "situation, situation, situation"...
Noisy Cricket (NAA .32 ACP)
vs.
Elliot (Spits at Her) (Cobra .38sp)
In 95% of where I go, Noisy Cricket is the SD (main or BUG) of choice.
OTOH, where Critters Roam, and Snakes are an "issue" I wanted a .38 Shot Load at the bare minimum. (Are Ranchers really going to shoot it out with their Ice Cream Guy? Who needs more than 2 (concealable from DOT) out there?)
Anyway, thought the Visual Comparison would be interesting...
(Note that both guns are made in Utah. A .32 ACP 6+1 and a .38 Derringer... What's not to love?)

Too many/Lots. That's why I sprung fr a gun I would likely not otherwise buy.ollogger wrote:That's a neat combo! but to bad bout the cobra

I can get away with a well concealed derringer, but not my SP101...

Yes, I am a huge fan of American made guns and your choices are down to Earth but...........................
Here's point for discussion:
I believe it was the late great Jeff Cooper who said.........There's no need for a snake load because if you see the snake, just walk around it and if he bites you, well, you know the rest.-------------------6

I find the reference to "Leverage" humorous.

I have a NAA in .32NAA, a .380 necked down to .32. I see great minds think alike!! But I have to admit it kicks worse than my .454 Casull.

The Glock 27 is the ultimate carry piece. There is nothin better. Lot of wantabe Glocks out there, but they can't compare.30wcf wrote:went back to carrying my Glock 27 as my EDC...it works...actually sold all of my 5-shot snubs...

Had a 27. Carried a 27 daily for a long time. Can't disagree at all... from a practical standpoint... EXCEPT where even the 27 is too large...tman wrote:...

Like when wearing swimming trunks (Lake Michigan & the NAA Guardian) or when needing "you aren't allowed" Deep Cover where shooting non-human vermin is not only accepted by the general population but praised...
That's where the Derringer (no expended shells/evidence to collect) becomes useful...

I would agree with you -- until I encountered the Springfield XDS .45. Just small and light enough to be a true pocket pistol fitting in any pocket I own, rather than the Glock 27 and 36 which only fit comfortably in the roomiest.
