My 2 1/2 grandson has a full toy box several rides on toys a few bin's filled with puzzles and coloring books and what dose he play with my decoys

Sounds like kids to me. When my kids were little I was working construction. They preferred to play with Dad"s tools rather than the toys.

My five year old son told me last night " Dad they called me in to work tonight, so I gotta get on the computer now and again at 1 am ". His Granddaddy is in IT, so I asked my son, "are gonna have to shut the system down at 1 am"? "Yes he said, " well how much are they paying you"? " Thirty dollars" he replied.
It sure is nice to see little guys emulating Dad or Grandaddy.

When my oldest son was that age, his favorite toys were windshield wipers and Rainbird sprinklers. Go figure.

Well, that shows much more imagination than playing video games.
As to tools, somewhere in my backyard are a font of hand tools. I just wish the boys could remember where they buried them.

when my daughters were younger they use to take a couple of mine in the tub so Barbie could ride them...decoys have multiple uses... :)

My daughter used to play with a counting tray and spatula. It is what items they see the people whom they want to be like using. She can hunt, fish, fillet her own fish, skin her own game, sharpen a knife, reload for her .243, and has passed the course and has a Concealed Handgun License. Oh, she can cook, too. Too bad the boys in this area are scared of her.

My son was the same way. In order to save my own tools I would go to Big Lots and buy him a cheap set of "real" tools because the toy plastic ones did not fool him. After we sold our house when he was older I saw the new owner a few months later. He had cleared the woods in our back yard and remarked about how many rusty tools there were out there. Yep, my son would rather play with the wrapping paper & boxes his Christmas gifts came in than the toys!!! Well, at that age anyway!!!

Went to picnic last sat and a friends son brought about 300.00 worth of those plastic kitchen toys for the kids, I was not sure why as we were in the county park with a lot of room around, and creek to boot. Hey I got an idea, went to the truck and got my Minnie trap. Guess what? Kids played with plastic cups full of minnows, and crawdads all day. Friends son did have to clean play kitchen sink of seaweed and dirt from the Minnie pond. Mtn Jack
