WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY ARE ' STAINLESS STEEL PRIMERS' ?

ALL PRIMERS ARE MADE OF BRASS ALLOY. SOME ARE NICKLE PLATED, SOME ARE NOT.

Well BILLYDIXON, I don't know about your brass, but it was on this day in 1874 that Billy Dixon made his famous shot, knocking the Chief off his horse.

I'm sorry no pics. All I have is my phone and I'm on a iPOD. The box says stainless steel primers. I will try to take pictures and send them along with my phone.

OH....WAIT A MINUTE....THE BOX SAYS STAINLESS--AS IN NON-CORROSIVE--PRIMERS. THIS WAS AN OLD DESCRIPTION USED FOR ALL THE NEW NON-CORROSIVE PRIMERS THAT CAME ALONG IN THE 1920's. W-W USED THE SPELLING ' STAYNLESS ' IN THIER ADVERTISING AND NAMES FOR THEIR PRIMERS.

If its a sealed box and blackpowder, I'll give 'ya $500 for it. Describe the box in detail, with the color of the label and the tiny small numbers that are usually on the bottom corner of the front label. If you want an accurate appraisal, I need to know everything. The best thing to do is to find a camera and take pics all the way around, including the top and bottom. There are many variations from about 1890 to just before WW2, the most valuable from the early era.----------------------Sixgun

Took a closer look and it looks like smokeless. It was also spelled Staynless. I've got pictures but only on my phone. Don't know how to put them online. I can text you with them.
