Modern Bullets - Levergun Cartridges - AmerRifleman
The March 2013 issue of the American Rifleman has a nice rundown, with posted loads, of newer bullets for our beloved levergun cartridges, as the title implies.

Except he left out the 338 Marlin Express. Can't figure that out.

Ignorance? Forgetfulness? Inablility to test ('cause he doesn't have a rifle for it)?Marlin32 wrote:Except he left out the 338 Marlin Express. Can't figure that out.

.
FWIW, I didn't see mention of the .356 Win, .38-55, or .375 Win, either.

Okay, okay, then lets say "There was a good article in American Rifleman about bullets, loads and stuff for half of todays leverguns "...

I think it was because the .338 Marlin Express has been covered in the last few years so extensively in other magazines, for instance - this month:
March 2013 Shooting Times, ".338 Or .348?" by Layne Simpson (starting at Page 52).
I just did an index search of my digitized magazines and stopped counting at 10 magazine issues that did various write-ups, starting back with the Successful Hunter Magazine Issue 38, March/April 2009.
Others, for instance:
American Rifleman, Feb 2009
HandLoaders Magazine 276, Feb 2012
So... I don't think the .338 Marlin Express is considered a new bullet, now.

All in all a good article, but a bit patronizing of those of us "who love to hunt with the OLD tubular magazine lever guns".
