Used to spend Christmas with my old police partner in Costa Rica.

Tell us more about the orphanage. Does it have a religious affiliation; how many kids?

Blaine, hope her trip gives her many life lessons, and a sense that she has made the world a better place. These are wonderful things to hold in a young person's heart.

Yea, Panama isn't bad at all now that they have shots for malaria and yellow fever

Seriously, my dad got malaria in Panama as a kid. Had a recurrance while in England prior to D Day. He had one heck of a time convincing the docs that's what he had as his service records showed he'd never been anywhere to get it. He finally got thru to them he had it as a kid as a Navy brat. The only good thing was the Brits had what they needed to treat it as they had military folks returning with it. The darned US Army didn't have any.

Hey Blaine, looks like you raised a good one. Congrats to both you and the young lady.

She'll go on real short rides....I took her on a couple all day, 400 milers, and she don't care for that....I took her down the Cowlitz on the drift boat, and I think she's scared to try that again....

There was this guy at work who always managed to be the "fly in the ointment" to everyone he had contact with. We all put up with him for 28 years as the union protects these types. Then a funny thing happened. Last month we had an unusually warm day and this guy took his Harley "Fat Boy" out for a cruise and he kissed a tree head on. Another funny thing, I have yet to hear anyone say, "Where's George?" :D --------------Sixgun

yeah, but "the wages of sin is death". the demonic religion you brushed with the term "charity" will reap all the "repayment" that they've earned.

equating the works of demons to the works of Christ's followers is the monkey wrench in the thread.

Wow, that's more work than I've done in the last 5 years combined !! I gotta go take a nap after seeing that picture.

Cheers,

Carl

p.s. a couple of years ago I had some friends of mine doing fix-ups like that in Costa Rica. They had a great time, made a huge impact.

This was the private version of The Peace Corps. It takes the DotGov Peace Corp a couple months to buy something. These guys just get the funds and go do it the same day. They can knock out one of these brand new, 3,000 dollar houses in a couple weeks. As they were finishing, the fund ran out of money for windows, and doors, and inside walls....The group Daughter was a part of all kicked in fifty bucks apiece and they finished the plans with no delay in a couple days....
