I just picked up this new Pedersoli Plains Baker Style shotgun and I m more than pleased with it.I t looks and feels like an old English double, Pedersoli sure got this one right with the engraved case colored locks and reciever and nice oil finished checkered stock .It will make for one fun bird and bunny gun.

Congratulations, working out the best loads is fun and trying to get the second shot off through a cloud of smoke definitely is... :D

I had the gun out for a little on the weekend. The 28 inch barrels are cyl and mod and are chrome lined. The single trigger fires the left barrel first then the right but you can cock and shoot the right barrel on its own just as long as you don t cock the left barrel. One thing I like about the single trigger is it allows the use of a gloved hand much easier.

Almost bought one a few months ago, but money went to elk rifle. Not given up yet though, I want to turkey hunt with that 10ga.

Great looking double. Would like to have one with 21" barrels. How much does it weigh? Does it carry and swing nice? 3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I had a Pedersoli 12 gauge in cylinder bore. I loved shooting .69 round ball out of it.

You may have already noticed what a pain in the back side it is to put those small caps on the nipples in the field.

Replace the #11 nipples with musket nipples. They're the same thread and screw right on. The large musket caps (High Hats) are real easy to put on and flip off and they give you a heck of a lot more ignition.

I wore a civil war repro musket cap pouch on my belt. It made things a whole lot easier.

But boy! Aint that shotgun fun to shoot!

Yes that really IS lovely! And I like that lock type quite a lot too. Sounds like a great gun! Love to see some pics of it in action.
Cheers,

The left-right barrel firing order is unusual but it makes sense. The first round's recoil will come more or less straight back and then the second round's recoil will tend to pull more to the right for right handed shooters. I have to say, though that I, too prefer double triggers IF the gun is fitted to me properly. If the gun is too short, howeverf, the middle finger of my shooting hand can take a beating when I pull the gun's front trigger.

Nice looking gun. Does both barrels shoot to same point of impact? I had a CVA and each barrel shot to different impact points. Having the second shot is always nice.
