lever gun sights

Post by Marvin S »

:D Bought this nice Redfield all steel sight. probably paid too much for it but hey they aint makin em like this anymore. it will go on my 1952 ish 94 carbine in 30WCF. I suppose the little set screws on the adjustment knobs are made to be removed so you can zero the the collars? Also the yardage side of the window is left blank, what was the purpose for that?

Redfield 70's like yours, for the 94,64,etc levers, will bring $200ish, on Ebay. If it had the target knobs it would bring a lot more. If it was stamped "O", for the Marlin 39A it would be $300ish.

Looks like you found a good one. Can't answer some of the questions, but there are folks on here who will if you wait for them to 'drift by the campfire...'

Nice sight. I have one like that. I paid $340 for it. :P It was attached to a Marlin 336 chambered for 35 Remington that was made in 1955.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Because that is where you mark it for your specific load. How are they going to know what cartridge and/or load you'll be shooting?
