marlin
this rifle is almost flawless. it has some blueing fadeing. it also has a little blueing wear on the left of the barrel and feeding tube. (like something rubbed on it) the wood is fantastic. the only real problem is someone changed the front sight and the Marlin Bullseye is missing from the stock. my great uncle says he bought it new but dont remeber when.
The bullseye you can get direct from Marlin or GunPartsCorp.com for a couple-five dollars. You are a fortunate man.
IIRC N=1956, M=1955 and L=1954...

i will try to get pictures of this rifle and post them. do you think Marlin would have an original style front sight?
I picked up a bullseye from Marlin for like $2.00 a couple of months ago. Shipping was about $6.00 though so I picked up a few different screws and a barrel band just to make the shipping worth it.
I think it only took 3 days to get to me.
Anyway, I had an Nxxxx S/N that shot lights out accurate with both 150gr Winchester Super-X and Remington Core Loks.
The only problem was that they shot about 7" higher than the factory sights and I couldn't adjust any lower.
So if you're going to be shooting it, you might want to see where POI is first then buy the appropriate height site.
If you're just wanting to keep it original, I can't think of where those might be purchased. Good luck though.

...and I don't think he even knows it...Walks around with a half-assed grin...If he feels fear, he don't show it. Just rides into hell and back again.
