Are you alone for the holidays?

Post by 86er »

Don't spend XMas or New Years alone. I'll pay your r/t transportation and provide nice, luxurious private quarters. Spend the holidays with my family and enjoy good cooking, good company, some shooting and hunting. This is totally anonymous as I will not reveal who you are or any details of your attendance. I've been doing this for 7 year for Leverguns forum members only. 5 out of 7 years we enjoyed a guest. Just PM if you are interested. I wasn't sure I could make it happen this year but another member offered me a huge favor that freed up some time and money so I can definitely make it happen.

Your generosity is an inspiration! This is why the fall/winter season is my favorite of all. People all over are more in a "love your neighbor" mood than any other time of year. (not insinuating for you it's only for the holidays, but mankind in general). Giving is what the season is all about. It is very comforting to know that there are still people like you left in the world.

once again, appreciate your kindness, this is a great idea, and becoming an institution. Someday I may take you up on it (without needing the airfare part). Sounds like a great time.

Good for you. I spent the holidays alone 19 years ago and it was miserable. The following year an old childhood friend invited me to spend the holidays with her family. We have been married for the past 17 years.

This is an awesome thing you're doing. It stinks to spend the holidays alone, unless that's your thing. To each his own. It really does take a special type of person to offer their time and home to people for the holidays. Don't see that much anymore.

Generous gesture for the Holidays. I am lucky to have a nearby sister and some family visiting after Christmas.... otherwise it's just me. I am sure there is someone who this is a real blessing for.

I wish everyone a fine Holiday season and blessings for your kindness.

Quick update: we have one person that cannot afford to take off of work or purchase airline tickets so he is driving to meet family for XMas. He's going to stop here for XMas Eve dinner and festivities. This is a little different than what we usually do but it works! Thanks for the thoughts.

Joe, my work schedule has been changing almost daily due to people calling in with the flu. On Tuesday or Wednesday, could I drop by with a batch of cookies for the 2 little hunters? It would have to be in the morning, and all it would be is me just dropping by to hand off a container of cookies.
