Latest purchase
After waiting for several years for USRA to start making the Model 71 again I picked up an original 71 over the internet. I will post pictures when it arrives.

While the Miroku-made Winchester re-pops exhibit excellent quality, they still come with lawyer-induced (unnecessary) safties that adversely affect appearance, and can affect reliability. The older Browning guns I have seen are very good, but hard to find. The Italian-made guns are close to originals, but are usually of lesser quality.
There is no substitute for the real thing! I look forward to seeing the pictures of your Winchester.

Not many bear here in Missouri although my friend's dad shot one that was destroying his bee hives and came after him. I have been looking for a 71 for years and I plan on shooting it at targets for starters.
