Gunshop score!

Post by eric65 »

Walked into my favorite gunshop today and the manager starts reaching into the case and pulls out three revolvers. the first was a mechanicly sound three screw blackhawk in .357 mag that was well used, the second was a N frame .41 mag, and the third was a s&w 19-4 6 inch pinned& recessed bbl in PRISTINE condition. Cost me my savage 99c but I now own the 19.

Any of them sound like a good score. Were you able to decide quickly or did you have to think about which one you wanted th most? 3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I am not big enough to carry an N frame around if the ruger had been in better cosmetic shape it would have been a close race, but I have a really soft spot for 19's :D

I don't get it. This is Leverguns.com. Maybe you should be posting this on the S & W forum. :D ----------------Sixgun

I love em, problem is they are getting harder to find in good condition and when you do, the seller thinks they are made of gold.

Actually, that one is close to being made of gold. It's an 'old school' smith, back when they knew how to make 'em. Beautiful deep blue, good wood and I bet fit and finish is flawless.

Something like that though I would be hesitant to shoot much and I would have opted for the .41 also.

Was the .41 a 58 or 57? The 58s are really scarce.

I honestly don't know, I really don't pay much attention to N frames. I do know that it was stainless and that it was made before the mess that S&W has become.

Yes she is beautiful, but she was made to be shot, so I am going to use her very carefully when I do.

One of the nice things about leverguns, is that sometimes they make excellect material for exchanges... I, like Sixgun, would have gone for the 3-screw BH, but I have a soft spot for mdl 19s also... and that one is certainly gorgeous!
