Sounds like you have a Browser HiJack Object (BHO) or something similar. Install Malwarebyte's free Anti-Malware, update it, and then scan. Let it fix anything it finds.

Same here.

I go out of my way to use different search engines (like 'FreeCause' which generates some probably minuscule profit for a pro-liberty organization, or 'Bing' which doesn't do that, but is no real effort to swap in place instead of 'Google').

I ALSO correct people when they use the term 'Google' as a synonym for 'search'. Call a cola a 'Coke', or even call a Pepsi a 'Coke', but I'd rather hear people say "I 'Bing'd the word 'levergun' and came across this strange website," than "I 'Google'd . . . ".

One thing I DO like Google did was refuse to cave to some China censorship stuff, but once I hear an outfit is anti-gun, they pretty much lose all credibility, and anything 'good' I hear after that makes me suspicious I don't know the whole story...
