Mine neither. I'd have to chip it off a piece at a time.

I can only haul 20.75 tons in my wagon. But, where do I pick it up! I'll just have to run back with only 44 gallons of fuel... let's see, @ 6.78 ave. mpg, that means I have to stop every 298 miles to put on another 44 gallons! It's doable.

To cut pigs of lead, I use a cutting torch. It just melts away into the mould placed under the cut line.
A bandsaw can work but you need lube and keep forcing the kerf open with a wedge. It is the way we started but now just use the torch. Faster and already in usable form.

Anyway, OI, where's this trailer at? I'll get Griff to snag it and we can divvy up the spoils at my place. Who's in?? :D----------------Sixgun

Too tired to do the math but that sure looks like a lot of 30-30 bullets!

I wish it were mine. It's just a pic from another forum from the guy hauling it. Thought the size/weight to box volume ratio would be an interesting thing to show...

Or 2,076,000 150gr. 1,512,000 200gr. or 864,000 350 gr. boolits! And if it's pure lead, by the time you alloyed it... 92-6-2, you'd add another 3,456 lbs or about 142,306 of those 170 gr bullets! Probably more than the combined total of us could conceivably shoot in the balance of our lives... (those regular, frequent posters, anyway)... but I bet we'd like to try!

Your Tractor and weigh 38,500lbs? The heaviest one I had was 34,200 empty, that was with a reefer and full tanks of fuel. Where was this lead going to and what was it being used for, Commercial caster or?

A cutting torch will work very well. Just remember that there is a very good chance that the very hot flame will probably vaporize some of the lead and you really don't want to breathe it.
