Just about all the Shootin' Places out on public land around here have been closed up because people take stuff out, shoot it up, and leave it. Glass stuff really rags my azz....can't take the dog because he gets his feet cut on broken stuff.

I have gotten to the point that I pick up all casings and hulls where I shoot (even 22 lr) so there's no indication that someone uses that spot for a range. People are pigs when nobody is watching.

Before i made a scrap run there was many a targets to shoot at, old water heaters, stoves, frigges ect.....
I`m out of things to shoot at and a good reason the rest of my stuff better behave.

shot a piano once...ok multiple times...piano's are tough and big...after the piano expired we took the metal parts to a scrap dealer (brass) and collected the old wood for kindling for the backyard 55-gallon-eco-trash-burner...left no evidence at the crime scene (public open space place where this alleged incident occured)... :)
