29 years ago today

Post by iceman »

Today my wife and I celebrate our 29th anniversary. I think it is a good idea to marry a farmer's daughter, they understand how sometimes work is a priorty, and sometimes you just have to make do with what you have. Hopefully that part is behind me but it sure was a helpful attitude starting out. Hopefully at least another 29 more to come.

Hint: Get married near your birthday, helps to remember your anniversary date. :D :D

Congratulations.

Looking at 30 in March. She's a wonderful girl, but I always promised myself that if I had thoughts about getting married a second time, I'd just go ahead and walk in front of a big truck.

Thanks all. All the pics are on paper and I would have to scan them (just like work). No real plans tonight, probably a dinner out somewhere local. She has to work this afternoon so no big plans. It was sort of a shotgun wedding (our son was born in June , you do the math)

33 years ago my girlfriend told me she'd never shot a gun before, but wanted to. Unfortunately the only gun I had access to that day was a Ruger Super-Blackhawk, with factory loads, but she insisted, and I gave her my only pair of hearing protectors, led her to a patch of tall grass (less damage to the gun when she dropped it), and put my fingers in my ears, standing behind her so hopefully I could catch the gun and/or her (relative importance at the time was uncertain) after she shot.

She aimed at a soda can full of water about 20 feet away, blew it to pieces, and looking over her shoulder (muzzle still downrange, even..!), she calmly said "How do I make it go again...?"

Engagement followed shortly thereafter. 8)

FWiedner,
Through my own experience ; rather than go through a divorce , l have found it not only cheaper but also easier to just find some gal you hate and buy her a house.
