Same with me Pitchy, mostly around the field. My quarterhorse, Jack; a blue roan bay gelding.

Come on Pitchy, get on the Harley and go to the biketober fest. Don't end up like my aunt with agoraphobia. Get out and play. Enjoy life, don't be a hermit.

Naw i`ve payed on those things enough, we had to sell our horses two years ago because of our messed up family so if the wife can`t ride i won`t either. Some day things are going to change and we are going to find that nice little spot in the world we fit in and get a couple more horses and maybe go off grid. Take a ride on the Harley once in a while. I`ve gone full circle on bikes from cruisers , choppers and everything in between and am now back to old iron that i like and can work on myself.
The bike is a 77 shovel.
Nice horse there pard.

Blaine this bike was pretty much this way when i bought it other than the bags and where i mounted the tail light. My 73 shovel i built and changed many times.
Gotta terrible errrrrrrrrr when i let the clutch out so i burned the tire on the shop floor a little and slipped her a little now is fine.

Nice scoot, Pitch. Mama couldn't ride with you on that because there isn't a seat for her. I understand what you meant. Hopefully you'll find a place and you can get some horses again.

Re: OT--The sun was just right.
Thanks pard, wife has one of those jell pads she puts on the back fender to ride but she doesn`t ride much. She is more of a horse person which i like too but riding here sucks, the deer and horse flys eat ya in the summer, then its deer season, then winter. And fences everywhere and riding down a dirt road don`t turn me on.kimwcook wrote:Nice scoot, Pitch. Mama couldn't ride with you on that because there isn't a seat for her. Re: OT--The sun was just right.
Dang Pitchy, that's a nice bike.
I had a 47 knucklehead that I painted just about that color. Was a dresser when I got it, guess they would call it a bagger today.
I have a 66 FLH, much modified and another 66 project that lacks a motor. Got most everything else but too many projects to spend any time on it.

Re: OT--The sun was just right.
Thanks, used to live for bikes but of late it isn`t as important as it used to be. Don`t take me wrong i`d hate to think of not having one but now if i can just walk out and look at a nice lookin scooter it feels good. Heck three years ago i put 14,000 miles on a Road Glide and never left the state.
Those sound like nice bikes, i`d still like to build a pan chopper someday but don`t know if it will get done. I miss the old days when every bike had a chain and things were a little easier to get away with. But i don`t drink or smoke anymore and feel lousy most the time so not anywhere to go anyway.
People worry about the old Harleys but if ya know how to work on them no worries, i took off from MN. with 75 bucks in my pocket in 79 and rode a 72 sporty chop to Calif. rode the same bike three times across the country. That 72 had thin cylinders new so it was bored out to the max, i rode into Alamosa CO. blowing oil out the pipes. Rings just wouldn`t last in them thin cylinders, tore it down in a apartment parking lot hitch hiked to Trinidad for some new rings. Sand papered the cylinders and put back together and hit the road.
I finally re sleaved those jugs back to a stock nine hundred and she ran great for a long time. In 72 when harley changed the 900`s to a 1,000 they just bored the cylinders out only leaving 30,000.
Never had a bike leave me walkin other than running out of gas or a flat tire.
Been pretty good all in all
